Dance Shoes Are Essential to dancing.  Rubber soles and sneakers are not allowed on our dance floor. They cause injuries and they are not suitable for learning ballroom dances. Alternatives to dance shoes are comfortable shoes that embrace the foot and that have soft soles without threads. Leather soles (like the ones on dress shoes) are excellent.
