7:00 pm - Ballroom Dance Lesson
The Norwich Dance Club is a volunteer community group devoted to enjoying the art of ballroom dancing. The Friday Club is our social program that provides the opportunity to learn how to dance and enjoy elegant camaraderie.
No partner? No worries. Our singles dancer table provides an opportunity for people who don't have a partner to dance with others. We call this the Friday Club.
You don't have to be a member to come to the Friday Club. However, Friday Club members ($6. a year) enjoy a complimentary dance lesson each month, have discounted rate to our social dances, receive a quarterly newsletter by mail and are invited to member-hosted events.
The Friday dance gatherings begin with a half hour dance lesson. Then we play music and everyone has a good opportunity to dance or just sit and visit with friends. Many of our visitors share a small dish of appetizers or desserts but this is not a requirement. You won't believe the wonderful food we get to enjoy. You may bring your favorite beverage for self enjoyment.
Dance shoes are required on the dance floor. Sneakers are not allowed, they are dangerous. The attire is casual elegant.
This is a multi-level event. You dance independently at your own level. Our members who have been with us for a long time are available to coach you and help you. (We dim the lights so no one is watching you)
ON THE THIRD WEEK OF THE MONTH!
On the third Friday of the month we host a Social Dance. (SEE OUR CALENDAR FOR DETAILS)
Each dance has a theme and we serve a refreshments or light dinner depending on the theme. We have a 12 piece live band that plays for us. The cost to attend the Social Dance is $15 per person at the door or $10 per person for Dance Club members.
